Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only participant to make it to the closing poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a huge pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest gamblers around the world. While gambling on online poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. He regularly plays in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus more often than not buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all in. I believe Hansen is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to play at the table with the minimum buy in.
Playing for the min takes a majority of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is supposed to be 1 of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amt.. I believe tv can alter our perception of the real world at times. The greatest poker players in the world might be guys you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be seen betting on internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in big stakes omaha eight-or-better and Holdem. Gus has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his abilities in money rounds?
