• No-Limit Holdem Poker- Howard Lederer?

    Howard Lederer grew up in a family of five where he liked participating in various card games when he was young. He discovered himself getting very competitive in the above-mentioned card games while competing against his dad. After graduating from Sr. High school, Howard decided to put higher education on hold for a little while and moved away to New York to play some big-time chess. While playing chess, he was brought in to a poker game taking place in the rear of the room. Howard’s first two years were tough as he played countless hours and fail to win most times. He earned some additional cash by being an assistant for the poker players. He believed he could improve his game by analyzing his life away from poker. He made an attempt to acquire more rest and concentrate even more on the game.

    The actual advancement in his skills began when he began wagering at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the the most favorable players would often play against one another. Howard had access into some of the foremost players in chess. With their assistance, Howard would tweak his logical thinking skills. He used these strategic concepts in the game of No-Limit Texas Holdem.

    Howard also assisted his sibling Annie Duke learn poker. Annie was a great student of poker as she would consistently be asking questions about the right way to make the proper choice. He told Annie to move out to Sin City and compete in the WSOP tournaments. Annie is one of the strongest women players the poker world today. Howard Lederer relocated to Las Vegas in 1993 and participated in cash games for the following decade. When the WPT gained popularity, he decided to participate in more tournaments.
