Have you observed the new PokerPro texas hold em poker tables? The first time I saw the PokerPro tables was about three weeks ago when I took a short vacation with my wife to the WinStar Gambling house in Oklahoma.
As I waited for my turn to be summoned at the live tables, I observed how the other individuals around the PokerPro tables interacted with each other. It was fairly interesting to say the least. Because the poker table was computer powered, there have been no poker chips to do any chip tips, no cards to shuffle and the actual live encounter was stagnant. Perhaps I was the only one that discovered this, but I did observe the gamblers at the table had a lifeless quality to them. The cause of this may well be since there was no human conversation with the dealer, the ambiance was rather boring and the players looked tired. It was almost as if I was viewing a live variation of a web based hold’em poker room instead of being seated with warm bodied humans. It was a tiny bit bizarre and I kept flashing back to a show of The Next Generation and the holodeck malfunctioned.
Since the waiting time for the reside tables was over an hour, I made a decision to observe how the casino game action was and to understanding this new hold em poker gaming technology. Right after wagering a few hands, I definitely felt like I was playing at residence. The lack of activity in the table was the primary reason. I prefer to stack and shuffle my chips, and mix my cards around. None of those items are possible at these digital tables.
Another thing I observed was how the computer dealt the flop, turn and river cards. I played a good deal of hands on the PokerPro table and discovered that the play was a good deal like an internet texas hold’em poker website. That might have been just a coincidence, except I found it to be quite odd.
Soon after betting a few rounds with this "new holdem poker technology", I determined that the PokerPro tables were not for me. I’m far better off wagering hold em poker on the net at home and not travel the distance. If WinStar Casino were to receive rid of the live poker tables, I think they’d shed a lot of players.
