• No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker contender on the planet by many of the top professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa showed him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover whatever he possibly could about poker. He would tell his parents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not allow the detrimental feedback from others annihilate his ambition of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

Phil began competing seriously after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and winning wasn’t a common outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an eternal love for poker. He states that he is learning every single day and is quite abashed about his success. Phil knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and always strives to get better.

Even though Ivey has won some big tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a normal basis.
